Killed in a Coal pit 2

Got this booklet from the library. Full of entries like the below piece

John Gregory (21) of Fairfield was winning coal at Writhlington when a large stone fell from the roof and crushed him to death. His younger brother was close by and was also injured but his body mainly bore the weight of the stone and saved his brother's life. He was  a useful member of the Bath Road Primitive Church and was shortly to be married. (Bristol Evening News 20 June  1881)
