Golden Brown the Stranglers 1982

Another song from 40 years ago. Hugh Cornwell was at Tucker's Grave once when I was out there. He has said he thought the record would have got to number 1 but Jean-Jacques Burnell said in an interview the song was about heroin and so it was dropped from playlists.

From the wiki

The song has been described as "the most unlikely single from punk rock band The Stranglers. Full of harpsichords straight out of classic Baroque music."[7]
