23 Bath Street RIP
So this Frome music venue is closing soon. A shame. They have tried I will say that for them. They hosted lots of interesting events. Last one is New Year's Eve. We played there when it was the Wheatsheef. Not a happy memory.
The Elephant's Leg
13 years ago my son and George put on a play they wrote at the Egg Theatre Bath. A comedy about someone trying to tell a joke. This photo is outside with my sis and nephew having a Chinwag after. We then went to the Hob for drinks.

Frome Museum
This building used to be the Lit club. My Dad took me there once or twice. Snooker table. Bar and reading room. I think.
Hot metal days.
Comp room display at Radstock Museum
When I started work in 1977 in Frome this was the set up in the comp room. Hot metal was the name. Those are type cases in display both upper and lower case versions. There would be a case for each size. You used a setting stick to compose the text and then locked into a chase which is on the right of the 'frame' .My Dad and Uncle Arthur were in the trade. They started at Purnell's.

The History of Cinema in Frome
New exhibition opens 5 September
Our autumn exhibition recounts the history of Frome’s cinemas.
Since about 1890, five picture houses have been open at different times in Frome, all within half a mile of the Market Place.
The history of of these cinemas, from Bray’s in Vicarage Street to the Westway in Cork Street, tells a fascinating story.
