T Rex Elemental Child

I like Bolan's lyrics. They are imaginative and fun. This clip is rather long so you might not like it.

Torch girl of the marshes

Her kiss is a whip of the moon
Dawn's damsels are dancing
To the hum of her sunny young tune

JACK O'FIRE Let's Get Funky 1995

 See below.

Let's Get Funky Hound Dog Taylor (1974)

This was the first song that I saw HDT's genius. I first heard him in a listening booth in the mid 70s and I didn't like him - thought he was a bit crap. Fast forward to the 90s when I heard a cover of this song by Jack O'Fire and it made me check out the original and found it exceptional and wanted more. Don't Fuck With The Blues – Cassette (Compilation), 1995 [r4022668] | Discogs

Paul Giovanni [Magnet] - Corn Rigs [The Wicker Man] 1973

 Corn-rigs, and barley-rigs,

And corn-rigs are bonny:
I'll ne'er forget that happy night,
Amang the rigs wi' Annie.

Based on Burns' Rigs O' Barley apparently about Anne Rankine. Anyway it's a great song.

Little Walter - Key To The Highway 1958

This is so great. Little Walter is a fine singer and of course the harp is great but also the backing is top notch. Key to the Highway - Wikipedia

Carting Boy David Fisher

In the old days all miners locally started as carting boys. Grandfather had scars on this waist. Part of the shared social thing for locals.

THE WHO 📀 The Kids Are Alright {Stereo} 1966

A promotional film for the song was shot in Hyde Park in July or August 1966.

The Teardrop Explodes | Reward | Original Promo Restored | 1981

Got the Julian Cope book Head On/Repossessed in our charity shop. Has insight into the Liverpool punk scene.

On this day, the 23rd of January 1981, The Teardrop Explodes released their single Reward. Here is a new remaster of the Don Letts-directed promo video that accompanied the release.

The promo video was directed by filmmaker and musician Don Letts. It was shot at a then-disused part of Liverpool’s Victoria Docks. The video featured a who’s who of the burgeoning Liverpool alternative music scene at the time. In addition to members of Teardrop Explodes, the video features members of Echo & the Bunnymen and the Wild Swans and other luminaries from Zoo Records and the Erics scene. The cast are clad [according to IMDB] in 1940’s WWII chic, careering around the dock in an old Austin Champ, a military and civilian jeep-like vehicle produced in the 1950s, and hiding in candlelit abandoned industrial buildings.

1900 (NOVOCENTO) (Masters of Cinema) Original Theatrical Trailer

Set in Bertolucci's ancestral region of EmiliaItaly, the film chronicles the lives and friendship of two men—the landowning Alfredo Berlinghieri (De Niro) and the peasant Olmo Dalcò (Depardieu)—as they witness and participate in the political conflicts between fascism and communism that took place in Italy in the first half of the 20th century. The film premiered out of competition at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival.[3]

Etta James - Dance With Me Henry (1958 Version)

Susan likes this one. We used to have a ferret Henry and she would sing this to him. Incidentally there has been a lot of ferret sheds getting raided and all the ferrets getting stolen. One breeder in Taunton lost 32 and is most upset but folks have been saying it is happening a lot atm.

Reports are in of toad movement so it is time to get out the buckets and hi-viz and torches and hit the road.
