Do you remember when you first got colour tv? I remember our Granny had one first and we would pile over to Radstock to watch Jacques Cousteau on Sunday evenings. This episode is about Sharks. Our Grandson is into Sharks.
The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau is a documentary television series about underwater marine life, hosted by French filmmaker, researcher, and marine explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. The first episodes of the series aired from 1968 until 1976. In the series, we see the scientific expeditions of the renowned sea explorer and the crew of his ship, the Calypso. They go around the globe exploring various regions of the underwater world and try to unlock its secrets and get them on film.

I was in an accident around then. I went to a friends after school and on the way home it was dark and I got knocked down by a man on a bike at the Butts (named after the place where they practiced archery). I remember running across the road and woke up with a crowd around me and someone asked me 'do you want us to tell the police?' Had concussion and was off school for a few days. Had to read lots of road safety leaflets.

It's nearly 10 years since she got her allotment. An allotment is a strip of land you agree to cultivate paying an annual fee to the local council. It's not expensive but ones at Bath are quite pricey. Susan is mostly growing strawberries, blackcurrants and shallots for our pickled onions. There is a committee and an AGM but it is pretty straightforward. If you don't tend your plot you might get warned and bumped off. When we first moved to Radstock we had one that was administered by the Church. I think it is a school now. She enjoys it immensely and during lockdown found it very useful exercise.

We watched and enjoyed this last night. A coming of age film about youths in their jobs and relationships. Filmed mostly in Torquay. There is a swimming theme running through it. That Summer! - Wikipedia

Dave Chapple is a Clevedonian who got to know the Somerset Coalfield towns and villages while playing football in the Somerset Senior League in the 1970s against teams like Peasedown, Tunley, Clutton and Bishop Sutton. A postman for 38 years, Dave has lived in Bridgwater since 1987. He is a life-long trades unionist; an oral historian and author of ten books of west country working class history, biography and autobiography. His latest book, to be launched at the Museum on 1st May, is his tribute to the Somerset Miners Association, and is based on three years research in the SMA Archive at Bristol University

These days if you say you are from Midsomer Norton people make jokes about Midsomer Murders. This is a long running whodunnit series that is popular with people who watch daytime tv. Here is the pilot.
Wiki says: 'The series focuses on various murder cases that take place within small country villages across the fictional English county of Midsomer, and the efforts of the senior police detective and his partner within the fictional Midsomer Constabulary to solve the crime by determining who the culprit is and the motive for their actions.
