Adge Cutler and The Wurzels - Drink Up Thy Zider (1966 Columbia DB 8081 a-side) Vinyl rip

"Drink Up Thy Zyder" – Regarded as the National anthem of North Somerset and Bristol, if not all of Somerset.[11] By far the most famous Adge Cutler song, often played on local radio. Also the 'theme tune' of Bristol City F.C. Adge Cutler - Wikipedia

Adge Cutler Playlist

Playlist made with the Adge songs on Spotify. Doesn't have the Sheriff of Midsomer Norton though. I saw Adge play in the 60s in Frome at a firework display. I was only a kid and it was a bit scary with so many people drunk.

Raising a glass to the unique Adge Cutler.

The band sing their song 'Drink Up Thy Zider' before some factory workers who enjoy a glass of cider and sing along. Watch an hour long documentary on Adge

Today 50 years ago Adge Cutler was killed

BBC article about the original Wurzel who was killed in a car crash. I saw him live at a sort of big in Frome. On the trading estate. There were fireworks and a lot of drunk grown ups.

Adge King of the Wurzels

My sister persuaded me to rejoin the library. Haven't been there for about 15 years. Today I decided to borrow some books. So I visited the Local history section and chose some. First up is this biography of Somerset bard Adge Cutler. Good book. Shall enjoy reading this. To see more on this phenomenon search this blog for Adge.
