"Superstar" was written in 1969 by Leon Russell and Bonnie Bramlett and was originally called, "Groupie." The song is about a young woman who was a groupie and had fallen in love with the guitar player in a rock band. Apparently, they'd had a one-night stand, and she was looking forward to seeing him again, but he's moved on and all she can do now is listen to him on the radio.
