Back in 79 we went on a booze cruise to Belgium. From Harwich. You didn't need a full passport you just got a photo taken and then you filled in your details on a card and that was it. As part of the deal you would also get a bottle of vodka and a carton of cigarettes. We went to Bruges and went round the canals and of course got drunk on Belgian beer. It was quite tiring but fun.
