Halliwell's Film Guide
Back in the early 80s a book not far from my side was Halliwell's film guide or the Filmgoer's companion by the same author. Nowadays books like this are a little obsolete but I might be wrong. Read more about the books here
Hoagy Carmichael Hong Kong Blues 1944
Hoagy Carmichael. As 'Cricket' in the film To Have and Have Not singing Hong Kong Blues. I used to slip this song in when I was spinning discs in the early 80s. Someone my Dad liked.
Dry Cleaning - Strong Feelings (6 Music Festival 2021)
As I said before Susan likes and noticed this band - here they are recently.
The Troggs - Hip Hip Hooray (1968)
Susan liked bubblegum music but in its loosest definition. This might be classed as Bubblegum but it is good anyway.
Mells Daffodil Day
Usually it was the Daffodil festival at Mells on Easter Monday. Has been a bit patchy the last few years but in its heyday was great. You would see loads of people you knew from Frome and Radstock as Mells is in between. Drinking, listening to bands, all that sort of thing. Stalls. Pub full. Vintage cars. Hog rosts. Reenactments and the Bad Detectives.

Episode 3 - The Devil's Music Series 2
Alexis Korner looks at contemporary Chicago Blues music. First broadcast: 30 Jul 1979.
The artists in this are Billy Boy Arnold, Fenton Robinson and the Aces. I was glad to see the Fenton Robinson clips as I haven't seen them for a while.
1985 first reenactment as a participant
Photo Mark Godwin. This is Glastonbury. The Tor in the distance. The 300th anniversary of the Monmouth Rebellion. Susan and daughter Bea were there. We had borrowed kit. It was great fun.How I got involved was I was canvassing for the Labour party and I knocked up a bloke who had some armour in the window so I chatted to him about it and he said come around and I did. He had a pea green Volkswagen van and we went down to Glastonbury.
Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup So Glad You're Mine 1972
Found and enjoyed this. The man who inspired Elvis. Read about him here
The Beach Boys - Do It Again (1969)
Heard this on the Mickey Bradley show yesterday. Forgot how much I liked this song. It reminds me of my youth.
Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue (Video) 1975
I remember the first time I heard this - I was having my hair cut at Rob's the Barbers in Frome and I thought he was singing 'Tired of Loving Blues', But I liked it and bought it.
