Queen Of The Night 1982 (2004 Digital Remaster) · Michael Nyman

In the 80s we really liked Michael Nyman's music.

Adam Ant - Man Called Marco (Slapdash Eden Video Mix)

Have you read Marco's autobiography yet? He's done an audio version too. This one we used the play a lot during the Vallis Road years. 'Ello. I'm Marco. Allow me to introduce you to my Firebird 7.'

Château-Gontier 1976

 Château-Gontier - Wikipedia

50 years ago I was participating in a French exchange. Frome was twinned with C-G. I stayed with a nice French family. i still remember their breakfasts. They let me have the use of a moped and I was able to drive it around town. I drank a lot but the family didn't mind. Once I got back and was sleeping on the front path and the mother came out and woke me up and brought me in. I went to a lot of parties and in the day hung out at an open air swimming pool. I visited a French family for a meal and got on really well but draank too much wine and threw up in their hallway. I remember going to a party in a 2 CV with about 9 people in it. Compared to my German exchane which was hell and resulted in me beating up my host this was really pleasant.

The worst part was a postscript. I gave my address to two French bikers - a lot older than me - and they actually turned up on my parents' doorstep while I was at school. My folks put them up reluctantly. They were a handful - they asked me to get them LSD and organise a fight for them. I just took them up the Hexagon suite and let them get on with it. Terrible. My folks eventually passed them onto the twinning committee.

VIRGINIA WOOLF'S NIGHT & DAY — Official Trailer (2026)

A passionate astronomer Katharine Hilbery does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage. Fun and contemporary in tone, this refreshing film showcases an ensemble of humourous performances against the ravishing backdrop of London in 1910, advances in science and technology and crumbling Edwardian patriarchy. Virginia’s story is as relevant to today as it ever was: women balancing romantic love with careers!

Kinky Afro Happy Mondays 1990

Kinky Afro - Wikipedia Just heard it on the radio. We bought the album on cassette. We used to get cassettes to play in the car as our house walls were very thin you could blast it out in a car.

Adam & The Ants - 'Lou' (BBC Session 1978)

Of course this was very memorable when we saw them at Corsham. Some hippy with bare feet leapt on the stage during it - stage is too polite a term, it was tables. We spoke to them after the gig - they were waiting outside a caravan classroom which was presumably their dressing room. We thanked them for a great gig. Susan and me were right up the front. Crazy dancing was going on behind us. Antfans were already following band - young punks.

Adam & The Ants - It Doesn't Matter (BBC Session 1978)

Recorded 23 January 1978. First broadcast 30 January.

When I first saw the Ants for the first time in 1978 this song stood out to me. I think as it was a 12 bar I could 'get' it. Plastic Surgery also was memorable.
