The Lair of the White Worm (1988) Trailer
Hugh Grant has been spotted in Frome buying a sausage roll from Parson's bakery. To celebrate I thought it would be good to revisit one of his early roles in Ken Russell's Horror comedy. I really enjoyed this film when it came out - nice early role for Amanda Donohoe too. Wiki
Sonny Boy Williamson Unseeing Eye 1959
One of Sonny Boy's strangest compositions. He was such a good songwriter I think.

The Terraplanes 'Evil Going On' 1981 Bristol Granary
So I don't know the exact date of this - 40 years ago. Probably the summer. It was a Battle of the Bands for local what's on guide Out West and I remember we sent a single but I cant be sure of the date. It's an accurate capture of the look of us at the time. I remember we had to pay something like £20 to get a video film of the show at the Granary Bristol. We didn't wait around to hear who won - we didn't bring a load of fans like the other bands had. I remember an argument with Andy during the soundcheck but it got resolved quickly. It was literally just us and a driver so we were a little tense. It was the only time this line up did a gig.
Marco Pirroni: The John Robb interview
Quite a long interview but interesting. The Youtube page has a schedule with the interview broken into subjects.

The Beatles - All You Need Is Love - HD Our World Performance 1967
I remember seeing this in 1967. In black and white then - this is colourised. Broadcast by satellite across the world this was the UK's contribution. I was very young (7) but a Beatles fan.
Great Crested Newt Documentary
8 minute feature. The post I did on Great Crested Newts so I am going a little deeper.
The Chess Story 1947-1956
!31 songs so quite a big chunk but no question about the quality on offer. There is a Volume 2 1957-1964 but it is not quite so interesting though still interesting.
Punks & New Romantics in Kings Road (1981)
40 years ago at this time I had stopped identifying as a punk and I didn't go to the King's Road any more. New Romantics didn't really impact us in Frome. It wasn't that we were anti fashion just we were trying to create our own look to an extent. We used the shop Johnsons for key items. Lloyd Johnson wiki

Britains American Civil War
When I was a child the first historical period I got into was the Civil War. I was given this figure by my Dad when he went to a Labour conference. I was very young and favoured the Confederacy as grey was more pleasing but my Dad explained about slavery.
Big Walter Horton centenary

Some sources say 1917 some 1918 but others say 1921 for his birth.
Walter Horton, better known as Big Walter (Horton) or Walter "Shakey" Horton (April 6, 1921[2] – December 8, 1981) was an American blues harmonica player. A quiet, unassuming, shy man, he is remembered as one of the premier harmonica players in the history of blues.[3] Willie Dixon once called Horton "the best harmonica player I ever heard."[3]
