 When we first got married not only did we have 2 pinballs we also had Brigitte an African clawed toad (Xenopus). We had her in a large tank. She eventually went to Rode Bird Gardens in their reptile section.

Great crested newts - conservation

 When I was young I spent a lot of time pond dipping or fishing in ponds and rivers. Often I would be on my own. One time I caught a Great crested newt. i feel guilty about it now but it gave me quite a thrill at the time. Illegal now.

 My bro has Frog sex in his pond. He lives North of the Border so his 'time' is later than ours but a great event. He heard them croaking. Happy days.

Holiday newts

 

Smooth newt - Wikipedia

Our daughter and her partner have been staying at Centerparcs Longleat which is a woodland with a lot of ponds and lakes among the cabins and roads. Nice winter break but they have noticed a lot of newt activity including squashed ones so have been helping them out during the night. 

Frog Hat

 A bit I didn't like in 1900 id the frog hat set when they were boys.

Reports are in of toad movement so it is time to get out the buckets and hi-viz and torches and hit the road.
