50 years ago it was for me all about parties. You would hear about them at school or sometimes you would hear about them at the Vine Tree. Generally didn't know the hosts but I only remember once getting chucked out for gatecrashing. Sometimes they would be in a village hall but mostly they were in houses. I did my first gig at a party at a farm near Bruton (see pic). I suppose as time progressed pubs and gigs became more usual but at the time of school the weekend party was the norm.
