The Boots: Baby please don't go 1965

Founded in 1965, the Boots quickly became the favourite rock band on the West Berlin scene. Their repertoire consisted of British R&B from idols such as The Pretty Things and Them. By the end of the 1960s, this type of band had had its day. In 2005, the remaining members wanted to celebrate an anniversary. They needed a drummer for the reunion. Someone had suggested they ask me. I had long since moved on to other musical directions, but maybe I would be up for a little trip down memory lane. I was. This recording of ‘Baby Please Don't Go’ was made during rehearsals.

Video: In 1966, a film crew accompanied an amateur band on their concerts in the southern German province. Musically, it was nothing sensational. The band did what everyone did back then – cover versions of rock standards, Chuck Berry, etc. The highlight is the audience, who cheerfully emancipate themselves from the restrictions and confines of the province.
