Having fun at the Somerset Rural Life Museum

We (as Monmouth Rebellion reenactors) had a good relationship with the Museum. We would do things like Wassailing (firing muskets into Apple trees to ward off evil spirits) and other events. So when the BBC wanted to an educational film about the period and they asked us to suggest a suitable location we chose the Tithe barn. Lots of interesting backdrops. It was my 40th birthday but I was happy doing it. I had a speaking role. I roped all my friends to come and we played music during the down time.

me teaching pike drill. I am on the left.

June 22-23 at Glastonbury Abbey the Taunton Garrison are doing a Monmouth event. Tickets and timings here
