Quoits in Radstock

My sister Anne is researching the Mitchard clan and has recently been looking at the archives of the Radstock Observer the local paper. Quoits was a game popular in mining communities. A heavy metal ring was thrown into a cley bed. She tells me there were two rival teams Radstock Town who had their home at the Waldegrave pub (see photo) and Radstock Albion who were based at the Tyning Inn. It was big with several international players in Radstock clubs. The breweries tried to revive it in the 70s but it didn't catch on.
