Following on from the 40th anniversary thread for us (Animals & Men/terraplanes) this was the year we got involved with Adam Ant. Geoff our first drummer left the Navy and had come back to Frome and was keen to start playing again. We had given up but one drunken evening we were talked into having a bash. He also persuaded us to send a record to Adam - we had some contact with him before he became famous and Geoff argued that he might be able to help so we sent a copy of Evil Going On but telling him we had expanded our line up since then. We had a practice at a youth club not far from our house. We had then 2 drummers and Brenda, Geoff's girlfriend at that time, also sang with Susan.
About now 40 years ago the Falklands war kicked off. Geoff's old ship HMS Sheffield was part of the task force. He had narrowly missed going. (To be continued)
