As I have mentioned before my Gtandfather was a tunneller during the First World War. After the war he went back underground but during the 1921 Miner's strike he was called up for the army reserves and sent to the Kent coalfield. They planned in their barracks that if they had to fire on colliers they would shoot the officers first but it never came to it. There is not much on the web about the 21 strike most of it is about Black Friday.
