Dockery Farms, between Cleveland and Ruleville, Mississippi: cotton plantation with original barns and machinery. Around 1900, there lived and worked about 2000 people, including many blues musicians. Dockery had a store, its own currency, its own doctor, and was to be known, to be good for the employees and that was rare. Dockery has produced many celebrities, including Charley Patton, 1890 - 1934, the first blues singer who was generally known, because there are 56 songs recorded of him. Narrator: Morgan Freeman
