Etta James - Dance With Me Henry (1958 Version)

Susan likes this one. We used to have a ferret Henry and she would sing this to him. Incidentally there has been a lot of ferret sheds getting raided and all the ferrets getting stolen. One breeder in Taunton lost 32 and is most upset but folks have been saying it is happening a lot atm.

Reports are in of toad movement so it is time to get out the buckets and hi-viz and torches and hit the road.

They have this in my local charity shop but I didn't buy looked it up at home. Looks pretty good. I will get it.

An epic tale of heraldic heroism starring Rutger Hauer, Barbarossa combines momentous battle sequences with the rousing story of one man's fight for freedom to create one of the most powerful medieval war films ever made. In the dark depths of 12th century Europe, the Holy Roman Emperor, Barbarossa is extending his reach through Europe. As his armies advance they wreak havoc throughout the lands, ransacking and pillaging wherever they go. But as Barbarossa's reign of terror continues a proud knight decides to stand up for his people, starting a bloody stand-off between the Emperor's army and legendary Company of Death.

Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes 1982

Caroline Munro is in this video. This was the era when we were communicating with Adam.

Goody Two Shoes (song) - Wikipedia

The video presents a stylised vision of a day in the life of Adam Ant, from dressing in the morning to performing on stage, to being hounded by the media. At the end of the day, he takes home a woman journalist played by British actress Caroline Munro,[12] in effect answering the song's theme question, "What do you do?" The video also starred Graham Stark and Dandy Nichols as the butler and cleaning woman.[13] The DJ Norman Cook, then unknown, appears as a porter.[14]

Happy birthday Caroline Munro

Redbad (2018)

Redbad/Rise of the Vikings. We watched this today. See below for trailer. First version said 'not available in your country' but we found a subtitled version for free. It's long - about 3 hours and the bad guys are the Christian Franks who looked more like Normans. Pretty epic with lots of battles and recreated villages viking ships etc. The Frisians spoke Dutch and the Franks spoke English. Didn't see a single spear, all waved swords and axes. Funny haircuts (Dark Age mullets) but all said and done both of us enjoyed it.

Split Personality · Bill Taylor · Smokey Jo

This one we like that Boss Radio 66 plays. It is fun. You will like it I think.

Early days of the internet

Do you remember when you first went online? What did you look at? I remember Bath Library you could go on the web if you paid a fee. I looked up French and Indian war groups in the US and Canada. Very few images mostly text. In time Susan's Dad bought us a computer as he wanted his Grandchildren to be computer savvy which they became. In those days if you were online the phone was engaged. On Compuserve I think.  A voice cheerily said 'welcome to Compuserve' when you got connected and a sad voice said 'leaving Compuserve' when you left. The UK lagged behind the US so most of my emails were from there but gradually UK reenactors got online. I think we had two servers as you would be allocated about 10 hours a week and that just wasn't enough. Freeserve was another one we had. This was mid 90s.

In the Garden Van Morrison 1986

This song reminds me of when we lived at Whitelands. All the people bar me would love their gardens and would talk about gardening at the drop of the hat. They also liked Van Morrison and we had a trip to see him in Bristol.

Standin' in the garden
