To Live and Die in the West Country by Animals & Men
Songs we put together on the theme. Covered Patton and Lee's Oh Death.
Troubled 'Bout My Mother Patton and Lee
Released 1935 though recorded 1 February 1934. Not a gospel fan but Patton's death songs are great. I played this a lot when my own Mother died.
I wonder where my mother - Lordie
Now she's up in the Kingdom - Lordie
Shining round the throne
Trouble on a heavy load
When I gets up in the Kingdom - Lordie
I won't be troubled any more
I wonder where he's gone
Now he's up in the Kingdom - Lordie
Shining round the throne
He prayed three times a day
The lions hushed in wonder - Lordie
To hear what Daniel had to say
Trouble on a heavy load
When I gets up in the Kingdom - Lordie
I won't be troubled any more
Out on the desert (?) sea
Then the boat was lying - Lordie (?)
The wind had slowed and ceased (?)
Trouble on a heavy load
When I gets up in the Kingdom - Lordie
I won't be troubled any more
I wonder where she's gone
Now she's up in the Kingdom - Lordie
Shining round the throne
Trouble on a heavy load
When I gets up in the Kingdom - Lordie
I won't be troubled any more
I wonder where she's gone
Now she's up in the Kingdom - Lordie
Shining round the throne
I wonder where she's gone
Now she's up in the Kingdom - Lordie
She won't be troubled any more

New York Dolls Red Patent Leather March 1975
Some really great songs in this era. Mostly resurfaced later in the solo projects.
In January 1975, McLaren and Westwood designed red patent leather costumes for the New York Dolls and used a Soviet-style hammer and sickle motif for their stage shows in the US as an attempt to attract attention through provocation
Red Patent Leather is a live album by the American rock and roll group New York Dolls, released in 1984. It was recorded in New York a decade earlier, in March 1975, just a month before the group broke up while on tour in Florida.[3]

Barry Lyndon 1975 full movie
Warners have put this up for free to watch for the 50th anniversary, Legal. One of my all time favourites. Music is phenomenal. I didn't know it in 75 though. I discovered it on video in 82.
The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda (Live on The Andy Williams Show, 1965)
Enjoying surf music at the moment.
