When I was in my early 20s I had quite a few pairs of winklepickers. This album cover from a Joe Jackson album shows a pair I had although mine were light grey. I had some patent leather Chelsea boots too. I wrote a song about winklepickers in 1982 called The Man with the spiked toed shoes. Here
