I went here for two years. Boys school. Some pupils boarded here but it was a state school. Now has girls too. I got caned here - twice I think. That is the hitting of a stick type of caning. I finished up not going into the sixth form but we did do a gig there with the Bad Detectives after I had left. For the boarders they had occasional socials and guests from the school for girls up the road Sunny Hill would come down. Of course masters would keep an eye on things. I remember we got a cheque for 13 pounds. I had on a pair of white corduroy drainpipes. It was a bit like the movie If...they even had a cadet group and rifle range. Pupils called each other by surname. This is where I met Nigel who was the bass player in Animals & men. Bruton
