Back in the 70s Walter Horton was for me a teenage harp enthusiast the greatest living bluesman. Obviously that changed in 81 when he died but he did manage a cameo in the Blues Brothers with John Lee Hooker. I've been revisiting my harmonica past recently and started a Facebook group Mouth Harp Maestros if you are a fan of blues harp.
Walter Horton, better known as Big Walter (Horton) or Walter "Shakey" Horton (April 6, 1921[2] – December 8, 1981) was an American blues harmonica player. A quiet, unassuming, shy man, he is remembered as one of the premier harmonica players in the history of blues.[3] Willie Dixon once called Horton "the best harmonica player I ever heard."[3]
