Now available - a new book by Ian Bishop. This book in the "Around" series concentrates on the villages and towns of Clandown, Radstock and Kilmersdon in what was once the North Somerset coalfield. In particular, there are many pictures of the railways and collieries around Radstock. The majority of pictures date from the first 40 years of the 20th century with a smaller number dating from the 1950s. With the exception of the pictures from the 1950s, there is an almost complete absence of motorised traffic. Paperback, 88 pages. Bristol boys make more noise

This book on the punk era in Bristol has an unexpected gem of a photo - Frome punks Charlie and Nigel Fenby with Steve Keep pogoing to the Straits, an all-girl band from York who played on the stage at the Westway Cinema. There's a cd that goes with the book.
