Me in a Oxfam suit |
This was a thing in our world. Oxfam was the first charity shop certainly in Frome. They stocked 2nd hand shirts, suits and waistcoats. If you wanted the suit jacket with thin lapels look then Oxfam would put you right. I remember when I was at school they had a mufti day when you could wear your home clothes - most kids wore jeans and t shirt Charlie and I wore Oxfam suits and thin ties. Part of the best apparel for a rural punk. It has cultural connections to Dr. Feelgood and Modism I think. Possibly a revolt against denim.
