This is a 1995 Ken Loach film set in the Spanish Civil War that got a special dvd release in 2005. Imdb facts here Starring the great Ian Hart famous for playing Lennon in Backbeat, it tells the tale of an International Brigadist both in the present and then through flashback.
I recommend this film as its style, which is naturalistic, is perfect for the subject and the result is fascinating - unlike any other war film. In fact it could be described as one of the great anti-war films of all time. Buy it...
